Jessica Perez

Jessica Perez (she/they) is a Cuban immigrant who spent her formative years in the subtropical whirlpool of Miami, Florida. Her history as a young child forced to assimilate deeply influenced her neural pathways, encouraging curiosity, resiliency and passion. As a first generation college student, they proudly received their Bachelors in Fine Arts from Kansas City Art Institute with a Minor in Social practice and is currently working as a professional artist. She has exhibited work in the Kansas City Artist Coalition, the H&R Block Artspace, the William Volker Studio, and the Vulpes Bastille Gallery. They have been the recipient of honors such as the Beals Award of Excellence and Innovation, the Christy Wright Glass Scholarship and a Wingate-Lamar Nominee.
